Murder Warrant Issued in Salina Child Death Case

Troy Love II is being sought in connection with the death of 18-month-old Bre'Elle Jefferson.
An arrest warrant for murder and child abuse is issued in connection with the death of a Salina child.
Salina Police say that the Saline County Attorney's Office on Wednesday issued an arrest warrant for first degree murder and child abuse for Troy Love II. Love is not in custody, and is actively being sought.
On April 9th, EMS went to a home at 602 Gypsum in Salina, after a 911 call alerted authorities that a child was not breathing. 18-month-old Bre'Elle Jefferson was transported to Salina Regional Health Center, and then transferred to a Wichita hospital, where she later died.
In a news release, police say "Bre'elle died as a result of injuries consistent with child abuse".

I have never understood why anyone would hurt a child.If the child isn't wanted by the mom/dad someone will want it.Is the mom also going to be held accountable?At times like these i question my faith.My mother always taught that God protected little children.

He should have been picked up when it happened, It seems like if this person was alone with the child when the injuries occured and then left town as soon as he had a chance that he might be the guy to question! Now he is who knows where and doing who knows what. When he is caught and if he is guilty I hope he goes to prison for a very long time , Where he is regularly beaten and mistreated!

These poor children are mistreated by their earthly parents but are quickly held close by their heavenly father. These stories always bring tears to my eyes and I feel blessed to enjoy my own children no matter what behavior they may exhibit.

When this story broke my comment was what is wrong with these mothers? Either they are directly involved or they are shacking up with some dead beat Guy who causes harm to the kids. For some reason it seems to becoming more common in Salina. If they do not want kids then don't have them. If they have them then don't have some Guy living with them. The blame has got to go to both parties when something like this happens.

LETS RUN THIS THROUGH THE PROPER CHANNELS. IF HE IS INNOCENT, LETS FORGIVE HIM! "BUT" IF HE IS CONVICTED OF THIS CRIME, BURY HIM!!!!!!!!! SEND HIM TO PRISON, THEN HE WILL FIND OUT WHAT ABUSE FEELS LIKE. I HEAR THE BIG BOYS DON'T LIKE PEOPLE LIKE THIS!!!!!!!

Why is the warrant just for this man and not the mom too? How can she be a true mom and not notice something was wrong with her child? If this was a one time thing, I understand why she is not being faulted, but if it was prolonged then something needs to be done with the mom too.

what makes me wonder ive hav knw troy since grade school and me and him both us to hurt ppl for hurting kids and ppl tht hurt women so im trying to figur out if he really did this or not cuz of how long i hav knw him for??

Such a sad thing. And to think this whole situation could have been avoided. I agree with Aschosh, charges should be filed against the mother as well. She did have a comment on her Facebook page April 6, saying should was single(which she has conveniently deleted), then on April 9, she obviously let this man back into her home and as a result Bre'Elle lost her life. Complete negligence on the mothers part. Perhaps she and Brittany Betzold will be cell mates. RIP Bre'Elle, no one can hurt you now!

I have known troy for a couple of years. I dont feel like the mother should be to blame for this situation because she trusted him. In front of others, troy is very good with kids and they seem to enjoy his company as well. She saw him around her children so much and he seemed to be very good with them.. now what he does behind closed doors when he thinks that no one else is watching is a different story. i feel that he needs to be severly punished and sentenced to life in prison where they will give him all the abuse he has caused to others and much much more!
