Man Wanted in Death of Baby Now in Jail
Jeff Garretson - Mon 11:12 AM 04/23/2012
Police say Troy Love II was accompanied by some family members when he surrendered to authorities Monday morning.
The man wanted in connection with the death of a Salina baby - walked into Police Headquarters on Monday morning.
According to Lt. Scott Siemsen, Troy Love II turned himself in around 8am today at the Salina Justice Center.
Siemsen tells KSAL News that Love was accompanied by some family members when he surrendered and is now in the Saline County Jail.
Police had been searching for Troy Love II since an arrest warrant for murder and child abuse was issued for him on April 18th in the death of 18-month-old Bre'Elle Jefferson.
Back on April 9th, EMS went to a home at 602 Gypsum in Salina, after a 911 call alerted authorities that a child was not breathing.
Bre'Elle Jefferson was transported to Salina Regional Health Center, and then transferred to a Wichita hospital, where she later died.
Police say that Bre'elle died as a result of injuries consistent with child abuse.

The only way Salina PD gets their man is for the person to give themselves up.

Great job once again salina pd. probably what made this guy walk into the station was seeing police cars pulled into business parking lots spending time shooting the bull with each other. Just think if they did not do that and did not spend all the time they do on their cell phones and did not have check lanes every week they actually could have caught this guy a week ago and he would not have had to turn himself in. Now we will wait to see what the outcome of this mess is? Wonder why the babies mother has not been arrested? Maybe they cannot find her any longer.

Doesn't sound like someone that committed 1st degree murder to me. If I was guilty, I'd go down with all gunz blazing. Not turn myself in to be trapped and killed like a dog. Maybe there is more to it than all you busy-bodies think.

Wow. I would love to see some of you go getters apply for the P.D. here instead of judging and complaining from your computers. At any job you have slackers but let's not group all the officers as such because its simply not true. Also@get a life...I think its a bit ridiculous that you would prefer that intoxicated drivers be let alone to drive drunk.

This is great news!! I too am glad he chose to do the right thing by turning himself in, that will put him in a better position when he goes to trial on this. If he is truly guilty, I hope he will never be walking amongst us again, if he is innocent of this horrible crime, the justice system will work for him.

P.S. Drunk drivers can be murderers when they drink, drive and kill someone. I think It is all important. Its called having a standard for living and if people held themselves to a higher standard then the police could actually focus on the more pressing investigations instead of policing people who cannot bering themsleves to follow the most simple of laws. I appreciate the check lanes.
