Agents from the I-135 / I-70 Drug Task Force found 37-baggies of pot and a one pound brick of marijuana at a home near New Cambria.

A Drug Task Force investigation leads to the arrest of a Culver woman.

According to I-135 / I-70 Drug Task Force Commander Lt. Jim Norton, Susan D. Edmonds was arrested after confidential informants bought marijuana from her on four occasions in Salina.

Edmonds was booked into the Saline County Jail on Monday and faces charges that include selling a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school.

Norton tells KSAL News the investigation also led to a search warrant being issued for a home in New Cambria.

On Monday evening around 7:30pm, Drug Task Force officers entered a home at 3514 E. Old Highway 40 and found marijuana packaged for sale.

Norton says the suspect, 42-year-old Marshall J. Matthews experienced some kind of medical emergency while agents were interviewing him - and was taken to Salina Regional Health Center for treatment. When released from the hospital, he'll face charges of conspiring to sell marijuana.

Norton says there were 37-baggies of pot confiscated as well as a one pound brick of marijuana with an estimated street value of about $2,000.

Agents also found $514 in suspected drug proceeds - of that $225 had serial numbers on the currency used in the sting.

Digital scales and a bullet proof vest were also gathered in the raid as evidence.

ksfarmdude..Should make you feel good also that our hard earned money we make by working and the taxes we pay on it, goes to support these P'OS., when they are in jail. Then when they get out we help support them again when they use their welfare cards for groceries and whatever else. Scumbags, all of them.

Marijuana laws DO NOT WORK it is easy to see since these potheads and po's you refer to still get their hands on pot. If it was legal at least the state would profit instead of the dealers

legalization would save all this wasted money on incarceration and the so called war on drugs. who cares if someone over 18 smokes pot. ban the sale of liquor, caffiene and all the prescription and otc drugs if you dont like drugs. calling another person a scumbag for voluntarily consuming a natural product. redneck backwoods antiquated thinking. alchohol is 10 times worse for society than pot. so welcome to the usa where abortion is legal and pot illegal. where you need a seatbelt to ride in a car and ride a motorcycle without a helmet. where nobody wants the govt to tell people what to do except when its something only other people do. live and let live

There's a lot of good/bad comments on this subject. I feel that pot should be leagalized---it is in fact no worse than alcohol. I agree that alcohol is worse/people drive/have accidents/the list goes on. I have NEVER tried pot/don't want to, but it does have some medicinal purposes - I know people who do smoke and have jobs - some of you would think OMG. Make it legal, tax the crap out of it and make the state of Kansas money---the potheads always go back even after they get out of jail-just get sneakier. Let the PD go after bigger and better crimes and drugs.

Looks like all the pot heads on here will have some of their supply gone. But probably a couple of them grow their own. Funny how you only speak to one side of pot and never the negative side. I have been around pot heads and its very easy to see the affects of a bunch of usage.

You honestly don't think that rich people who own nice houses don't smoke weed once in awhile? That is hilarious!!!

mandyson21 it may surprise you probably 98% do not as they have better things to do and are bent on making money and realize what drugs do to you and that it would hinder their quest for money. The 2% are not strong enought people and wish to live being hi and damaging their brain cells.

The difference between alcohol and pot it that a breathalyzer can measure your level of intoxication for alcohol but nothing measures pot intake. There is no way to regulate it. I also believe that people who knowingly commit felonies on a regular basis will continue to be the types of people to commit felonies in the future because that is their track record. That is the pattern and lifestyle they have set up for themselves. They basically say that they have so little self control that they are willing to commit felonies in order to smoke a plant. I don't think that legalizing pot will turn these people in to law abiding citizens, given their track record. Instead of being mad about the state actually trying to enforce laws, why aren't you mad at the people who cannot stand to live life without violating those sensible laws?
