Twenty years after a series of murders by the so-called "I-70 killer," police in one St. Louis suburb are releasing new information in the cold case.

Thursday marks the 20th anniversary of the death of 24-year-old Nancy Kitzmiller. She was found by customers at Boot Village in St. Charles, where she worked.

Kitzmiller was one of six people killed in five Midwestern cities in April and May of 1992.

Four of the murders were at small shops along Interstate 70 - two in Missouri, two in Indiana. The other two were at a bridal shop near Interstate 135 in Wichita, Kansas.

St. Charles police say that based on ballistic evidence and witness statements, the gun was .22-caliber, possibly an Intratec Scorpion or an Erma Werke Model ET 22.

And the new information? Write a story about police releasing new information and not tell what that information was? Good job KSAL, your the smartest news group in town (NOT)

Let's try this again. I do not blame KSAL I blame law enforcement and their tight mouth tactics. Murders can be solved if the public is aware of some information on a particular crime. But all law enforcement especially Salina and Saline County do not put out information that can solve cases. Then we get one week we have info on 30 yr murder need public help. Then a week later the same with 20 year murders. These cases should of been solved within months after they occurred and many would have if the public had more information.

Information has to be withheld in order to prevent copycat crimes, to validate future information, and to positively identify any one who may confess.

kskomodo04 you cannot really believe your statement. this is no longer the 50's when just maybe what you said was true. with all the news media reporting everything from when someone flushes the toilet to when they are setting up dui lanes the life we live is no longer private. I do not think it was meant everything that is known needs to be released but the way they work it now is they release nothing and they are not capable with solving crimes especially murders on their own. The first thing you find is nothing gets done on crimes and then they ask for the publics help sometimes months later or as in this case years later.

Acutally, rather than be snarky and negative, realize that the last paragraph of the story IS the new information.
