KSAL Staff - Mon 11:00 AM 05/07/2012
The investigation centered on incidents that took place inside a south Salina home between May of 2011 through May of 2012.
A Salina teen is in jail on charges of sexual abuse.
According to Lt. Scott Siemsen, police on Friday arrested 14-year-old Brandon Carpenter on charges of aggravated indecent liberties with a child and aggravated criminal sodomy.
Siemsen tells KSAL News that the investigation centered on incidents that took place inside a south Salina home between May of 2011 through May of this year.
Police say the victim is a pre-teen acquaintance of Carpenter's.

14? What is the age where the media is not allowed to post their names?

This debate isn't new. It's 14. There are a few options for those not wanting to read the names of sex assault suspects that are not of age. One would be to not click the link. One would be to contact your legislator and change the law that allows publication of the name. Another would be for a 14 year old to not sexually abuse a child. I vote for option 3, but option 1 and 2 might be more practical.

you are a yokel. There is not enought information here to assume anything even happened. Just the word of the police for something that has been going on for over a year. Remember one thing it takes 2 to tango and kids are having sex alot younger than past generations. Another reason is lack of parental supervision.

@theenforcer,to assume that they "victim" wanted to "tango" is just as bad as assuming the suspect guilty without being proven so. I also think that the fact that the victim is PRE-teen leans toward this being a coerced act by an older child, if it truly occurred.

I truly do not like the release of names of kids under the age of 16-18. I really think before the media destroys a young persons life with these allegations, they should be afforded the chance to defend the charges in our court system. If they are convicted, IN COURT, then, by all means plaster their names throughout the media outlets.
