So the lawyer doesn't know if he locked his car. With the fees lawyers charge this should not be tragic. Maybe if the crooks target the hill then more pressure will be put on the chief of police to do more in catching and/or deterring the crooks.

To Iamgonnagetu: You have anger issues. Please take care of them so we, the public, don't have to deal with them anymore.

IF ANYONE LEAVES THINGS THAT ARE VALUABLE OR HAVE VALUE ,IN PLAIN SIGHT ,IN A LOCKED OR UNLOCKED VEHICLE ,AND THESE ITEMS GET STOLEN, IT SERVES THEM RIGHT, TO LOSE THESE ITEMS TO CRIME ,MAYBE NEXT TIME, THE OWNER WILL SAY TO THEMSELVES ,IM NOT GOING TO LEAVE THESEITEMS OUT IN A UNATTENDED VEHICLE ....

Well obviously ROCKER is a criminal out skulking the streets looking for victims to provide him with his livelihood rather than getting a job. It is a really crappy outlook to think a person cannot leave things in their car without worrying about theft. Hey ROCKER hopefully your welfare check comes on time this month so you won't have to rob decent people of their possessions that they actually WORKED to attain.

ANY SMART PERSON does not leave a GPS in an unlocked car living in Salina.... Dont you remember how much crime there is taking that chance...I treasure my GPS more than to test my luck and leave it right there...Maybe they wanted it stolen so they could get a Newer one...Also I would think the heat would hurt it so it wouldnt work as good..PUT it under the seat hidden ANYWAY or under a blanket or coat STUPID......Maybe out in the country where you are hidden in the trees ...it would be more likely to leave it in plain sight..

With the way the current burglary and break-ins are on the rise, anyone that is leaving valuables unlocked or unsecured in any way is asking for trouble. It's unfortunate we all have to be so damn proactive with our belongings to keep them out of the hands of criminals. Iamgonnagetu, I don't think you have anger issues hon, I think like me and many others you are frustrated with what is happening around us and we cannot do anything about it, except perhaps pull the trigger if we happen to catch one of these idiots stealing our stuff!!!

I only wonder why they bother to report this....must've been a slow day at the police station. I'm sure Dan can afford to replace these items...maybe he could buy some decent clothes to wear to church sometime too? You'd think an attorney would know better....but there I go doing my own thinging again.

Getumgranny is 100% right on. Iamgonnagetu does not have any anger issues - like was said frustrated - and the truth hurts. I never leave valuables in my car, I lock them in the trunk. Crime is up - we can't catch criminals when we're watching for speeders/expired tags/any small infraction where the officer isn't in any danger! Being a little cynical, but think about it---oh and getumgranny - don't shoot a thief trust me - they have almost more rights than the honest citizen - you shoot - he sues and wins-----not pretty. Innocent until proven Guilty.

Granny frustration over the individuals with the let live attitude. Law endorsement is plain not doing a good job whether city or county. If both the chief and sheriff worked in the private sector both would be unemployed. Crime keeps increasing while solving those crimes keeps decreasing. Until some of the big wigs in town start getting stole from nothing is going to change. If they would get hit hard with thefts you would see change in a New York minute.

Chatter11: I hear ya Sweetie, I think that is one of the most frustrating part of the judicial system--When the criminals do finally get their day in court, there's no real punishment!! No reason for them to stop, the ole slap on the hand and don't do it again is not punishment!! They DO have more rights than an honest citizen. Time for some of the judges and law enforcement to take a hard look at our system and how it's failing our community.
