A Salina man avoids an employment scam.

Police say that a 23-year-old man thought that he had obtained a personal assistant job via a college work place website. Through e-mail correspondence, the man was led to believe that he was going to help someone establish a new business in Salina.

The man was sent two money orders, each in the amount of $956. He was told to deposit the money orders, keep $150, and send the rest of the money to an address in Florida.

When the man went to make a bank deposit it was determined that the money orders were fake.

Why would anyone send someone too much money? If they send you more than they agreed, and want some returned, I would think one would think something was wrong. Send me too much and I am keeping it. If it clears the bank, then I will send it back.
