National Guard Troops Disciplined For Looting In Joplin
Associated Press - Wed 11:27 AM 05/23/2012
Missouri National Guard members have been disciplined for looting in Joplin after the massive tornado.
But the guard has refused to release information about the incidents, saying it's not subject to Missouri's open records law.
The guard didn't respond to requests for details about the looting by citing an exemption to the Missouri Sunshine Law.
Brig. Gen. Randy Alewel, commander of the 35th Engineer Brigade, acknowledges that members of his unit were involved in looting after the tornado last year. Alewel wouldn't say how many soldiers were involved or how they were disciplined.
Guard spokeswoman Maj. Tammy Spicer says the guard is exempt from the Missouri open records law and provides the maximum amount of information allowed under the laws the guard follows.

oh give me a break, getalife.. are you serious? I'd trust our Nation's military every minute of every day. At least they volunteer to risk their lives protecting our country, part of less than 1% who have and ever will serve our Nation.

Now I'm not saying that we should not trust the military or anything like that, but I do find a lot of wrong with this. It is utter BS that they can hide this information as to who did it and what was their repercussions. The public should know this information, just as anyone else that was involved in looting during that time or any time frame.

Oh getalife... time for you to move out of the country. Perhaps Mexico would be more of your liking. I'll stick with the corrupt police and miltary of the gold ole USA that protect and serve proudly. Again a few idiots taint the greater good of the majority.

Wonder if any of the members of the Guard recall seeing Kari Wilkes dog, Hanah. She was picked up by someone in an official vehicle on 5/24. We have a photo of her taken just before she was picked up, and records of the 9-11 call placed for assistance. Ironically, our requests for access to public information have also been denied. It's time someone finally steps up and Bring Hanah Home! https://www.facebook.com/BringHanahHome $2500 CASH for Info. bringhanahhome@gmail.com

At some point you have to go out on a limb and trust people. Do 90% of this people honesty want to make a positive difference for mother's benefit? Yes. Are there those 10% that are doing their job for a paycheck and just slip through the best intentioned screening? Yes. That doesn't make all of one profession a certain way, just like it doesn't make all of one race one certain way. Too assume that would be ignorant. To those that give their lives, family time and well being to serve me and the free members of this nation, we are grateful. Not every one tosses aside your sacrifice because a few of your colleagues have very poor judgement.

@Getalife, can you site your source for your statement about the coverups that happen everyday?
