Police arrest a thief at the pool.

According to Lt. Scott Siemsen, officers were called to Kenwood Cove on Monday afternoon after a cell phone and cash were taken from an unsecured locker.

Kirstin Holliday of Salina contacted police after she discovered her iPhone and three-dollars cash were stolen.

Police used surveillance video in the investigation which led to the arrest of 14-year-old Scott Colborn of Salina.

He was charged with theft and released to his parents.

Police say the iphone has not been recovered.

Total loss is listed at $503.

Interesting how they named this kid but the 3 that damaged south high school never got their names printed. It seems its always who you are when it becomes to reporting.

Teens under 14 have been named in the news before. If destroying school property should not warrant it then this petty theft should not. Crime is crime and all of these teens were wrong in what they did and all names should be public information.

I am pretty sure this is a state law. Offenders younger than 14 do not get printed unless its a felony or violent crime I believe. Plus it has to be fact and reported as true. Wonder if that was a KS offender that you remember reading about before.

The offense could have been more severe but destroying a school is pretty severe.
