A Brookville man is injured in a motorcycle crash west of Salina late Thursday morning.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, 40-year-old Christopher Hays of Brookville was riding a 1997 Kawasaki motorcycle east on K 140 Highway. At the same time, a truck driven by 49-year-old Jose Teodulfo Acosta-Corrales from Kansas City was headed west on Crawford Street.

Troopers say that at the intersection of Crawford and K 140 the truck failed to yield the right of way. The truck struck the motorcycle broadside.

Hays was hurt, and was transported to a Wichita hospital. Acosta-Corrales was not hurt.

The crash happened at 11:23 Thursday morning, three miles west of Salina at the intersection of Crawford Street and K 140 Highway.

'dude, It's obvious that KSAL doesn't even look at their website. Otherwise, their pictures & graphics would be displayed with the correct aspect ratio.

they don't have stop signs in Mexico where this guy is from. Probably just got done dropping off a truck load of illegals.

If you want to leave a message for the Mexican driving the truck you have to leave it in Spanish.

The motorcycle was headed east and the truck left the stop sign and drove into the side of the motorcycle.

lAW ENFORCEMENT and our COUNTY ATTORNEY has a way of coverung things up. Besides what granny mentioned how about the guy that was killed on crawford by the old lady making a u turn. I think the state ought to be investigating all of this because there is definately some mis-conduct occurring. Then again law enforce has the local news media in their back pocket. Evidently they have something on the Salina Journal as they censor themselves and offer no investigated reporting.

R.I.P young man!! I'm so sorry for this tragic and senseless loss of a young life. Too bad the idiot in the truck could not be bothered to pay attention to his driving, let alone get out of his truck and help the poor young man!!! Mr. Accosta-Corrales, I hope this incident haunts you every day of your life!!!
