Tip helps police make arrest

A tip helps Salina Police catch one of two men who within the past week led officers on high-speed chases.

Deputy Police Chief Carson Mansfield says that 29-year-old Brandon Cunningham was arrested Thursday.

Cunningham was being sought on misdemeanor warrants when he fled from traffic officers early Wednesday. He was clocked at speeds of 80-mph while eluding police early Wednesday morning around 1am as he headed south on Broadway. Police broke off the chase.

Police are still seeking 26-year-old Zachariah Humphreys. His car reached speeds of 50-mph before police terminated the chase last Friday afternoon around Broadway and North Street.

If you know the location of Humphreys, call Crimestoppers at 825-TIPS, text SATIPS to CRIMES (274637), or visit Salina Police Department and follow Crimestoppers link to submit a web tip.

It should say "Tipster leads police to fugitive " These tipsters will learn they will not receive anything for doing the job for the police.

What is wrong with you idiots? What is the big deal about money the tipster did not have to go and arrest the person, that is the officers job. That is the dangwerous part. Most people giving tips do not want to be recongized for anything.

Dear Salina Police Department and SalinaPost, Not a single person put out a tip for you to find him, and you guys did not "lead to the arrest of him" or whatever else you think. He came to the police station yesterday and turned himself in to you guys without any kind of fight. Don't make him sound bad by putting him out like that, when he brought himself to the police station and turned himself in. Thank you.

Stirthepot calling us idiots evidently makes you big. Your the idiot the police falsely use crimestoppers to sucker people like yourself into thinking they are going to be paid and then they get nothing. Tipsters do not receive a pay check every week but the cops do.

Once again false information may have been given to make the police look good if what this person says is true.

It may have been the ksal editor trying to kiss up to the police helping them look good.

Probably the Salina Journal is the one in bed with the PD. All Ksal does is copy and print the journals stories. Sure wish there was another local paper.
