Police in Junction City are looking for a burglar who has been breaking into homes in the middle of the night while the occupants are asleep.
The city's police department issued an appeal Friday for the public's help in identifying the man. Video from a surveillance camera in one of the burglarized homes shows a man of unknown race wearing gloves, a baseball cap and a light-colored shirt and pants. He was carrying a flashlight and appeared to have several days' growth of facial hair.
Junction City Police Chief Tim Brown says the man is suspected in at least a half-dozen break-ins in the past month. He sometimes finds unlocked doors, but in one case entered a home through a swinging "doggy door."
