A Salina man is facing charges following a late-night bizarre accident.

According to the Saline County Sheriff Glen Kochanowski, deputies responded to an incident Wednesday evening at about 11:00, in a construction area on Water Well Road east of Ohio Street. First responders found a man down, pinned to the ground by an SUV. A wheel on the Ford Explorer SUV, was on top of one of the man's legs.

Rescuers jacked the vehicle up off the man, and transported him to the the hospital. He was admitted with a leg injury.

The man is identified as 66-year-old Marc Ryan of Salina.

For an unknown reason Ryan had stopped in the area, and gotten out of the vehicle, leaving it running. The SUV rolled forward, knocked him to the ground, and pinned him when it stopped with a wheel on his leg.

The sheriff says that Ryan could face charges that include DUI, no proof of insurance, and disobeying a traffic control device.

"Unknown reasons" means he got out to take a leak from all the beer he had consumed. Showed him....

Give me a break dis-obeying a traffic control device where did you pull that out of sheriff. You got enought room in that jail of yours to put everyone that drives down a road with the sign posted out there? Maybe you ought to put a car out there to catch them.

If this guy was drunk by all means charge him but disobeying a traffic control device is a far reach.

Maybe I'm reading it wrong. DUI, no proof of insurance, and disobeying a traffic control device. Where does putting him in jail for driving down a closed road stand as the only charge? Looks like he was charged with DUI. Isn't there a sign that says road closed?

Also in research I find you don't put somebody in jail for an infraction (sign?) but you can for DUI (misdemeanor or felony). Same-o-same-o......................

Well, it sounds to me like he was not bright enough to be driving, if you can't remember to put your car in park when you get out to take a leak, perhaps he was a little over the limit!!! Fortunate he only hurt himself and not an innocent person.
