Police Arrest Burglary Suspect

The suspect is facing charges for allegedly stealing $36 in coins from Jim's Chicken.
Homework pays off for a Salina Police Officer.
According to Deputy Police Chief Carson Mansfield, an officer who had earlier seen a security video of a burglary at Jim's Country Style Chicken that occurred June 25th - recognized the suspect walking down a street and made an arrest Sunday afternoon.
21-year-old Jordan Penwell, 318 N. Phillips, was charged with burglary, and damage to property for allegedly stealing $36 in coins from Jim's last Monday.

There has been no coverage on why this guy had the combination to the safe. If Jim's chichen gave it to him this could make an interesting court case.

Yes, this patrolman did a super job, glad we have some that are paying attention, and actually care. I'm sure it was a tough call, as hot and miserable as it is, I'm sure he/she would have most likely rather sat in the air cond car, $36 is not alot of money, but it's the idea he was out walking the street perhaps stealing from others!! Thank you for catching one, good news!!

Granny the only way you know its hot out is because KSAL.com has the temp on the home page. You haven't done a days hard work in your life. But sure jump on a chance to bash others, hate hate hate filled life. Don't tell a police officer he did a good job and in the same sentence question whether he wanted to get out of an air conditioned car. Complete idiot you are. There isn't one officer in your county/city that wouldn't do the same exact thing, but you will never know that, because you have to much hate in you to meet one and get to know them. Remember, it is easy to hate, but it is a lonely life. But at least you have your 3 KSAL.com fellow hateful friends to keep ya company.

tlittle: I do actually know what manual labor is, I spent 50+yrs myself at it. I worked hard, paid my taxes, raised a family with no assistance from government aid or handouts, I have callouses on my hands with nails that are short because a woman with a $50 manicure isn't going to do much hard work. You are obviously not from this area, so it's obvious you have NO clue what we deal with concerning our law enforcement community here. FYI, I do get up around 4:30-5AM, I do everything I need to do before it gets to hot out, I cannot tolerate the heat like I did when I was younger. And I do know many of them, some will tell you there are many on our force that are worthless!! I appreciate the Officers that are dedicated and do their jobs, when I see the "sorry bout your luck" attitude I see with so many of them, I find that disturbing!!

WE? Are you serious. granny, I am glad you worked hard, good for you, you did what the rest of us are doing or have done. My point is, you cannot deny, and didn't even try because you know, that you are very cowardly in replying the way you do, bashing and hating, you guys hate the sheriff and chief and it is a personal vendetta against any authority in your area, you make it sound like you are so in the know, but we all know, you are a very hateful, lonely, coward behind a keyboard that only knows what you read on KSAL.com. You say the cops in your area have a "sorry about your luck" attitude, if they do, do you think maybe it is because day in and day out they deal with people like you, I can imagine that would wear on anybody. But I know they don't have that attitude, you just know nothing about them, their jobs, and how they have to harden themselves so the stuff you throw at em don't stick, so they can go home and love their family without thinking of the stuff being thrown at em day in and day out.
