Cooler Air On The Way

A break from the heat is on the way.
According to the National Weather Service, very hot weather will persist into Saturday across the region. Afternoon and early evening heat indices are forecast to range from 100 to 107 degrees.
A cold front will move through Saturday night through Sunday bringing scattered thunderstorms and cooler air by Monday. Highs Sunday will drop back into the 90. With highs Monday in the mid to upper 80s.
The break from the heat will be welcome. As of Friday, the high temperature in Salina has been at or above 100 for twelve consecutive days. The hottest day so far this year was June 27th, when the temperature peaked at 110.
