Troy Goff was injured in a motorcycle crash back in May

A benefit event is planned for a Salina man recovering from a critical head injury.

Back on May 4th, 30-year-old Troy Goff was involved in a motorcycle crash. After a a stint at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, he was transferred to a rehabilitation hospital in Nebraska that specializes in traumatic head injuries.

Friends are rallying around Goff, as he fights to recover so he can return home to his 6-year-old son and his family.

A benefit poker run event is planned for Saturday, July 21st.

The poker run will begin at Bishop Street Tavern, at 717 Bishop. It features $500 in prize money, including $350 for the best hand, and $150 for the worst hand. Cost to participate is $15 for the first hand, $5 for initial hands.

Registration begins at 10:30 in the morning on Saturday, July 21st. The last bike will head out at 11:30 in the morning, and the last bike will return at 5:30 in the evening.

The event also includes a benefit auction and raffle, live music, and a $5 meal for the first 150 people.

All proceeds will help pay expenses incurred during Goff's fight to recover.
