Chick-fil-A Controversy Reaches Kansas Universities
Associated Press - Fri 08:10 AM 07/27/2012
Online petitions began at Wichita State University and the University of Kansas after Chick-fil-A President Dan Cathy said he opposed gay marriage
Some students at two Kansas universities want Chick-fil-A removed from the campuses because of the fast-food chain's stance on gay marriage.
Online petitions began at Wichita State University and the University of Kansas after Chick-fil-A President Dan Cathy said he opposed gay marriage. Some groups are boycotting Chick-fil-A, while others are supporting the fast-food chain.
The petition at Wichita State had about 530 signatures early Friday. The Kansas petition had nearly 1,800 signatures. Another petition to keep Chick-fil-A at Kansas had about 560 signatures.
Wichita State officials say if they hear of anyone being refused service at Chick-fil-A because of sexual orientation, the school would address the situation.
Kansas officials say they are discussing the issue with people on campus and off.

Let's remove the gay students who want it removed instead. It is time that the laws are enforced on the sodomy issue with gays. Remember Kansas was the 1st state to target LGBT people and should remain strong in this area. If gays do not like living within the laws of Kansas they can move to a state that welcomes them.

THEENFORCER, if that law should be enforced, why not all of them? My point is there are some antiquated laws, and they need to be addressed.

Just remember that if you remove a business because the owner exercised his/her right to freedom of speech then the flip side may do the same. Go ahead and try and ban Chick-fil-A, any pro LGBT company can be banned also. No court in the land can uphold such a ban. So pull your panties out of your butt and get over it.

I agree. People are certainly entitled to their own views. I frankly have no issue with gay/lesbians, or the thought of them being wed, buuut, I also believe in a free market. If businesses choose to not to business with people, and others do, I believe money talks. The business with the best business plan will win in the end.

They can't ban Chick-fil-a but they can boycott the place. That will hurt them more than anything if everyone refuses to eat there.

Are you saying that people have a right to go other places if they do not like someones stance on an issue? Gee wally, I wish they would have been thinking the same thing on the smoking ban....... Do as I say not as I do.

Agreed. I'm not a smoker, and I enjoy things being smoke-free, but I thought/think it's wrong to have businesses choice removed. I might not agree with a lot of people, but by god, I am all for people's rights.

The LGBT can boycott a church or business based on freedom of speech. But the business or church is forced to except their views. Which the F%^$ is it? Do as we say not as we do. Go pound sand with your hypocrite agenda.

Why is it that everone is supposed to tolerate all these movements for the gays yet we should not tolerate one mans opinion? He has rights just as you gays do to speak his mind. Grow up and quit your damn whining. If you don't like the guy, don't do business with him. Maybe someone who doesn't like gays should start petition to have them removes from campuses.

THe LGBT activists are as bigoted as the anti-LGBT activists. They are both hateful and intolerant. The LGBT activists want to ban the anti-LGBT activists and vice versa. Thankfully th government cannot give either group what they want.

Since 2003, with the Lawrence v. Texas Supreme Court Decision, no state can ban sodomy between consenting adults. If there was a law in Kansas, it has been vacated.

I raise beef, but as soon as I can find a Chick-fil-A I'm going to eat me some chicken. He has a right to his opinion. I hope everyone who believes in his opinion eats there, just to give him some moral support.

And once again, I will say, I do not care if anyone is gay, that would be their choice!! But, I certainly do not have to support their views and beliefs, and I won't. I know the gays are here to stay, I know there's nothing we can do about who someone chooses to sleep with, but I do not and will not agree, or change my views, feelings or beliefs for them!!

The bigots are up early. We aren't in the 1950's anymore. This prejudice says a lot about you. In the end, people who happen to be gay do not effect you at all but you shove your bigoted views down everyone's throats.
