Family Sues Over Death At Country Music Festival
Associated Press - Tue 11:33 AM 07/31/2012
The parents of a Nebraska teen who died at the 2010 Country Stampede music festival in Manhattan have filed a lawsuit over his death.
The Manhattan Mercury reported Monday that Kristina and Mark Kreutzer of Beaver Crossing, Neb., are seeking damages in excess of $75,000 on two counts.
The lawsuit was filed in late June against Country Stampede, the Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks and Tourism; Robin Jennison, secretary of the state agency, and two employees of a company that provided security at the music festival.
The Kreutzers' suit alleges the defendants did not provide timely aid to their son, 19-year-old Jacob D. Kreutzer, who died June 24, 2010, while camping at the event.
The Shawnee County coroner listed the cause of Kreutzer's death as an unexplained internal injury.

Go to festival, Get drunk, Fall down or get in fight, Do not blame son blame festival or state or someone else. get hurt and die. I am tired of this crap of no one wanting to take responsibility for their actions. Accidents happen and no one is to blame.

Festival leaves the area WHAT????!! It's sad that a kid passed away...but as many people that attend, there are not enough security to be at a fight the very second it starts. God bless the family.

I feel for the parents, as I'm sure it's one of the hardest things they'll ever have to deal with....losing a child. It's hard to imagine it being the free-for-all that some describe, but if so, they need to address the problem.

I understand that the parents are upset, but I can't help but feel for the security employees. More than likely their company won't back them with their own lawyer, and they'll end up needing to fork out their own money just to defend themselves from a parent lashing out. Very unfortunate, to say the least.

Today more than ever if you are going to put on an event of this nature you better have a police force or army to go with it. But the people who started this were after to make big bucks and they could care less at who's expense its from.
