Outrage About Restaurant's Plans To Serve Lion
KSAL Staff - Fri 03:40 PM 08/10/2012
A Wichita restaurant's plans to serve lion among other exotic meats is drawing outrage from around the country.
Chef Jason Febres from the restaurant "Taste & See" is planning an event on Tuesday of next week that features among other things on the menu wild hare from Scotland, Indian farm-raised alpaca, Australian kangaroo loin fillets, and African lion. None of the animals on the menu are endangered species.
The $160-a-person dinner is sold out.
A campaign against the event has gained support from around the country.
The group Change.Org began an on-line petition to protest the event, and the group Born Free USA is also protesting the event.
The restaurant closed its Facebook page less than 24 hours after opponents began leaving feedback there. Advocates are also encouraging people to call the restaurant and city council in the days leading up to the planned event.

Food is food, if they want to serve Lion they can serve it, as long as it is not on the endangered species list. Hell I would even try it, I'd try any kind of meat if it was cooked right.

I'm guessing those complaining simply can't afford it...maybe they'd prefer to let the lion taste them?!

The folks complaining about lion being served for dinner are the same folks who have no problem defending a womans right to kill her baby. Strange, a dead lion will send these people into a tail spin but countless dead babies mean nothing to them.
