KDOT To Reduce Workforce
KSAL Staff - Fri 11:45 AM 08/10/2012
The Kansas Department of Transportation is laying off 40 workers.
According to the agency, as part of an effort to maximize resources and reorganize staffing, they are reducing workforce. The plan will impact about 40 headquarters positions, which is less than 5 percent of headquarters staff.
In an e-mail message to all KDOT workers, Transportation Secretary Mike King said there are no plans at this time for additional layoffs.
When the Department of Administration has reviewed and approved the plan in the coming days, individual meetings will be scheduled for each employee affected by the layoffs.

That is such a Joke next will be the workers out there on the highway that maintain the roads for the motoring public Thanks for nothing Mr. King also Let’s not forget to let the people of Kansas know how you plan on removing essential equipment that is needed on day to day basis and especially when there are events like tornadoes and snow and ice in winter you need to re think what you are trying to do and what you are doing

It really annoys me that our government really does not give a rats a s s about peoples families. Everyone is trying to work as hard as they can to bring home money to there families to live and survive. The government and all the rich and wealthy are running us not so wealthy out of a job.

KDOT would have enough funds if the governor wouldn't rob them to balance the budget and support welfare. That was one reason the recent secretary left her position. KDOT is punished because they were responsible in keeping a sound budget and managed the funds. Go cut some other budget that is being wasted.
