Officials break ground on the $3.75 million project.

Officials broke ground on a new multi-million dollar facility in Salina Wednesday morning.

Employees, family, and friends of American AgCredit celebrated a ceremonial groundbreaking for a new, expanded, Salina facility.

According to the company, the new office will be a 12,464-square foot, single-story stone veneer building. It will feature a large, conference room with external access, making it ideal for community meetings and as a regional gathering facility.

It will feature a caterer’s kitchen and receiving area for supplies, as well as a multi-purpose conference and audio-video room on the lower level.

The stone veneered ranch style structure features a walk out basement with elevator access, 10 enclosed offices, six open area offices, a mail and production room, multi-purpose conference room with attached catering kitchen, large finished flex space adjacent to the conference room, two conference rooms, a break area with kitchen and outdoor patio, a vault for secure document storage, and a receiving area with overhead door access.

American AgCredit President and CEO Ron Carli tells KSAL News that Salina is the ideal place for this expansion project. The company is thriving locally, and the location in the middle of the state, on Magnolia near the intersection of Interstate 135, is perfect.

The expansion is expected to eventually generate ten new jobs, each paying between $50,000 and $100,000 a year.

The project cost is $3.75 million and will take 10 months to complete. The planned completion date for the new facility is July 31, 2013.

If it generates $50,000 to $100,000 a year paying jobs, no-one in Salina will be hired... They want people with an educashun... So the new hirees will come from out of town, making the population and crime grow...
