Police say the SUV also hit some landscaping rocks and ceramic animals.

Police are looking for two suspects after a stolen vehicle is involved in a hit and run crash.

Salina Police were contacted at about 5:30am Saturday morning after a stolen Chevy Suburban crashed into a parked work truck in the 1900 block of Roberts.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene after heavy front-end damage was done to a 1991 Suburban that police say was stolen from a home in the 800 block of Otto at about 5:20am.

Witnesses told officers that at least 2, tall, thin white males got out of the SUV and ran.

The owner of the 1991 Suburban lists the value at $10,000 while the other vehicle damaged is a 2005 GMC Sierra truck owned by Hassman Termite and Pest Control.

The owner of the Suburban told police he had left the keys to the vehicle under the floor mat of the unlocked vehicle.

I'm sorry their suburban got stolen. But 10,000 value for a 1991 ? Must have low miles ? Maybe that's the tax value?

It is just so stupid to argue that "crime is up" every time there is a crime. It is also quite stupid to argue that crime is up in the face of 9 years of irrefutable data that crime is down by more than a third, especially when you have no data - none. And finally, it is absurd (trying to be nice staff) for a Dickinson County resident to rail on the Saline County Sheriff and Salina Police Chief. Insanity, where down is up and the world is really flat. WOW.

Evidently KSAL is again turning their heads after issueing warning about this type of behavior on here. Those of you that are as tired of it as I am contact the station and file your complain. Anyone should be able to make a comment without putting up with this behavior from someone that needs help.

YOu said you were being served by DIckinson County Rural Water District No. 2, and when you post complaints about the police chief in Salina or Sheriff in Saline County, folks have a right to know it is coming from a biased outsider who does not get a vote or pay taxes, etc. . . . . It is not bullying to commnet on your post about a story. It is free speech.

Irrefutable data is data that you cannot refute with personal opinion or belief. For example, you cannot say crime is up becasue I say its up. You cannot say crime is upo everytime there is a crime. There will always be crime, so taking a crime in isolation and saying crime is up or down is ridiculous.

Just getting all the crime records for the years would be enought. The chief can put any spin on it he wants. In alot of ways he is like you posting on here.

The bottom line he is not doing the job he is being paid to do and he is trying to cover his butt.

Remember the motto Protect and Serve. There is very little protecting going on with all the murders, rapes, breakins and assaults taking place.

Crime is down by 37.5% over the past 9 years. That is a fantastic record that we must credit to our fantastic law enforcement agencies and their fantastic leadership. Fantastic VICTORY.

Crime is up not down as mis-stated on here. Taxpayer complaints had the chief called up on the carpet and he is trying to protect his job.

No way is crime down in the past nine years. You used to read about some crime taking place every once in a while but in the past 9 years that has escalated to what we have now which is several crimes being reported by the media every day. This does not include those crimes that are not being reported by the media. Salina has a crime wave occurring and neither law enforcement agency is capable under the leadership we presently have to do anything about it.
