Arrest Made After Knife is Pulled

A Manhattan man is in jail after allegedly threatening someone with a knife.
According to Scott Siemsen, 59-year-old Richard L. Smith of Manhattan, Ks., was arrested on Friday evening after an argument escalated at a home in the 700 block of South 2nd.
Police were contacted around 6pm on October 5th.
Smith is now facing charges of criminal threat, battery and aggravated assault after he allegedly shoved a 62-year-old man during an argument.
Police say he then pulled out a razor blade knife and threatened to kill the man.
No one was injured.

Another example of the increase in crime in Salina. To bad the old guy did not have a gun and shoot the guy with the knife then these hapless cops could of hauled the body away. But the chief maintains crime is down. Who is he kidding?

Who is kidding who @get. You are biased against the police and have no data to support your delusion that crime is up whenever a crime happens. And I guarantee you would moan and groan if you called 911 and nobody came. It is a tragedy when serious crimes go unsolved, just as it is to refuse to accept the obvious truth. I asked you if you have been to a tea party function lately. Have you?

As I have previous stated the only reason to call 911 is for a medical emergency. Otherwise I take care of any crime situation myself. KSAL here is this guy questioning people on here because of their views once again. Todd P. you said you will not tolerate it any longer NOW DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.

What staff said (and Todd P too) is that calling people names will not be tolerated, like the gay bashing you were doing. But questioning your point of view is the purpose of the site, and you don't have any problem questioning other peoples views.

I agree with others on two things. First another crime in Salina and it is a shame the old Guy was not carrying and shoot this Guy.

You mean you agree with yourself since nobody else has said those things. It is the little subtle clues that give you away and make everyone else wonder, Why? It is a good thing the victim was not carrying a gun because, according to the FBI, he likely would have been killed with his own gun. Folks who arem themselves with the idea they will be able to defend themselves against an intruder or the like are the folks who get killed with their own guns more often than not.
