The Drug Task Force teams up with Sedgwick County agents to make an arrest.
According to Task Force Commander, Lt. Jim Norton, 27-year-old Filiberto Nunez-Garcia was arrested on multiple drug charges in Wichita yesterday and booked into the Saline County Jail.
The search for Nunez-Garcia began shortly after a dog from a K-9 Unit hit on a vehicle he owned.
Lt. Norton tells KSAL News that back on September 26th, officers released him from the scene where they were making another arrest at 841 Hancock Ave.
A warrant was then used to search the 2005 GMC pickup truck he left behind - and police found 3.9 pounds of methamphetamine plus 6 pounds of marijuana inside the vehicle.
Lt. Norton tells KSAL News that the street value of that much meth is worth $177,000, while the pot would bring about $7,200 in drug deals.
Nunez-Garcia, who kept a Salina address at 912 Smith until September 26th, was found at a friends house in Wichita.
Police found him Tuesday in possession of a half pound of meth and with $30,000 cash in suspected drug proceeds.
