Governor Brownback said Wednesday that the state could see a temporary dip in revenues because of massive income tax cuts enacted earlier this year.

Kansas Gov. Sam Brownback hasn't ruled out proposing that the state help balance its budget by keeping its current sales tax in place longer rather than letting it drop next year as planned.

Brownback said Wednesday that the state could see a temporary dip in revenues because of massive income tax cuts enacted earlier this year.

Supporters of the cuts believe they'll spur economic growth, but Brownback acknowledged there will be a lag.

Brownback said he'll wait to see how the budget situation is shaping up before making decisions about pursuing a sales tax change.

The 6.3 percent sales tax is set to drop to 5.7 percent in July 2013. The drop was scheduled in 2010, when the state boosted the tax to balance the budget.

Of course he's not... he gave his rich buddies the ability to shelter all of their income from state income tax with his new tax plan but he still has to fund government so he asks the little guy to foot the bill through an increased sales tax. Expect more of the same crap if Tom Arpke gets elected.

Brownback is the absolute worst "Republican" ever elected to the office of Governor in this state. He admits that he knowingly put the state on a deficit course and is unapologetic about it. Mark my words, everyone but the ultra-rich will suffer eventually. Evil.

Trickle economics doesn't work just look at the Bush Presidency. Brownback and his cronies are going to put this state billions of dollars in debt with their huge tax breaks and then say school, prisons, social services for the elderly and poor and everything else has to be cut because the state has no money. I hope to god, the real god not the Mormon cult one, that Romney isn't elected. Otherwise this will happen nationwide with social security, medicare and everything else being destroyed piece by piece.
