The 2012 Annual Campaign is now in full motion and the Salina Area United Way is working to mobilize more resources than ever before in the Salina area. “We have had incentives for giving that have been open to all donors in the community for the past four years, however, this year we are adding specific incentives to encourage businesses to commit to increasing donor participation and giving by ten percent or more,” says Campaign Chair Bennie Salkil, Accreditation Director at Salina Regional Health Center and SAUW board member.
Sheila Srna, SAUW Campaign Cabinet member explained, “The SAUW has recognized companies that increase participation by ten percent with a Community Citizenship Award for many years, but this is the first time we have rewards to share with our business partners to thank them and help them in turn thank and incentivize their employee donors.” In cooperation with the Salina Arts and Humanities Cultural Round Table members, the SAUW will provide all businesses that are 2012 Community Citizenship Award winners with a package of tickets and activities from several arts organizations in our community.
Businesses will be able to use these incentives to reward and thank donors that help SAUW achieve its goal for strengthening our community in the priority areas of education, financial stability and health. Arts organizations contributing to these incentives include: Salina Arts and Humanities, Salina Symphony, Salina Community Theatre, Salina Art Center, Salina Public Library, Smoky Hill Museum, Salina Parks and Recreation, and the Stiefel Theatre for the Performing Arts. Salina's cultural arts agencies provide important resources to help keep our community healthy and vibrant. Like the United Way they are vital to ways to explore, engage, and experience the heart and soul of Salina.
“Our goal is to LIVE UNITED with our partner organizations in the arts by helping them reach new audience members through the SAUW reach while also inspiring new donors. Just like our campaign video showcases the Salina Sculpture Tour, this is a prime example of how the SAUW is a community partnership organization that is working to align all community priorities in strategic ways,” said Andy Martin, Executive Director of the SAUW.
