Woman Scammed Out Of Thousands

Jeff Garretson - Thu 12:41 PM 10/11/2012

A Salina woman is swindled by an internet scam.

According to Lt. Scott Siemsen, a 37-year-old woman applied for a job online and then received a package with instructions to deposit a number of checks, while keeping a portion for herself.

She then wired the money out to other locations.

During a time frame between October 1st and October 10th, the woman followed directions and deposited several of the bogus checks into her account.

Total loss is listed at $5,000.
