Downtown Salina To Kickoff Christmas Season

Christmas will be in the air in downtown Salina this weekend. The 2012 Christmas Festival and Parade of Lights is Saturday.
Events start early in the morning, and end with the Parade of Lights in the evening. The Frosty 5K Run and the Merry Mile Walk/Run hosted by Salina Big Brothers/Big Sisters and sponsored by Salina Running Company begins at 9:00 in the morning. The Parade of Lights begins at 6:00 in the evening.
Here is the full schedule of activities:
9:00 AM - Big Brothers Big Sisters of Salina Frosty 5K Run
10:00 AM - Big Brothers Big Sisters of Salina Merry Mile Walk/Run
10:30 AM - Big Brothers Big Sisters of Salina Santa Sprint
10:30 AM - 2:30 PM - Entertainment on The Stiefel Theatre Stage
11:30 AM - Big Brothers Big Sisters of Salina Race Results and Award Announcements at Campbell Plaza Stage
12:00 PM - Toy Train Exhibit opens at the Watson Room in The Stiefel Theatre
12:00 - 5:00 PM - Children’s Art in the Salina Art Center Artery
1:00 PM - Children’s Holiday Parade (All children 12 and under welcome, meet at Campbell Plaza Stage)
2:00 and 2:20 PM - Live Nativity presented by Immanuel Lutheran Church
2:00 - 3:00 PM - Cookies with Mrs. Claus at Mokas Bakery and Bistro
2:00-4:00 PM - Cookie decorating at Martinelli’s, sponsored by Bank of Tescott
4:00 PM - Visit Santa and Mrs. Claus on the Patio of El Atoron (117 N. Santa Fe)
2:00 - 5:00 PM - Carriage Rides, sponsored by Salina Downtown merchants,
Loading at Professional Hearing Center, 249 S. Santa Fe
5:00 PM - Pre-Parade Entertainment Performances, Santa Fe and Iron Ave.
6:00 PM - Parade of Lights

They cannot wait until after thanksgiving how sad that our elected officials are letting this take place when another week would not hurt anything.

I think its nice what they are doing at least its something for the lids to day yeah maybe a lil early but its not that bad :) i know me and my kids will b there!!

Knowing that iamgonnagetyou is negative about everything makes it easy to ignore him. If he was able to articule 10 things he likes about himself and 10 things about where he lives, I would take him more seriously when he is negative.
