Four Hurt In Sunday Crash

The crash happened at 10:40 Sunday morning two miles south of Mentor at the intersection of K 4 and K 104 Highways.

Four people are hurt in a crash in rural Saline County on Sunday.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, 44-year-old Tasha Trout of Gypsum was driving an SUV west on K 4 Highway. She failed to stop at stop sign at the intersection with K 104 Highway and struck the side of a car that was headed north.

Trout was hurt, along with a passenger in her SUV, 43-year-old Scott Cumpston of Salina.

Two people in the car, 84-year-old Vaughn Melander and 87-year-old Robert Melander both of Lindsborgh, were also hurt.

All four were transported by EMS to Salina Regional Health Center. Troopers say that all four were buckled up.
