Huelskamp Seeks Committee Reinstatement

First District Rep. Tim Huelskamp says he still has no answers for what he calls a vindictive and petty move by House leadership to remove him from key congressional committees.
Kansas Congressman Tim Huelskamp has written House Speaker John Boehner seeking reinstatement to committees he was removed from last week.
Huelskamp, R-Kan., was among four GOP lawmakers that Boehner removed from important House political assignments after they bucked party leaders on key votes. The four congressmen voted against the agreement in the summer of 2011 to raise the government's debt ceiling.
Huelskamp lost his seat on the House Budget and Agriculture Committees.
Huelskamp says in a release that he sent a letter Friday to Boehner requesting that he be re-seated on the two committees. He says his office has been "overwhelmed" with calls and emails from supporters.
A Boehner spokesman said Tuesday the party's steering committee made the decision to pull the committee assignment "based on a range of factors."

Every reasonable person agrees: the federal government is too big and it is costing too much money. That isn't the issue. The issue is the Congressman's dogmatic approach and non team work behavior. Other VERY conservative members of Congress were promoted by the Speaker. Be a team player = do good for Kansas. Don't be a team player = not effective.

Every thinking person agrees that partisan politics is what assisted in the destruction of our country. If a person cannot go to Washington, and vote with a clear conscience and represent the views of those who elected them, then it is obvious our problems within Washington have reached a new low. If this is the philosophy of the current GOP leadership, the party will go the way of the Whigs.
