Cougars Split in Buhler

The Salina South girls are 2-0 after a 44-42 come-from-behind win at Class 4A No. 7 Buhler.
The Cougars scored the first four points of the game, but Buhler answered with five straight and went on to lead 12-11 after one.
In the second quarter, the defenses ramped up their efforts, as Buhler added just eight points, but South was limited to five, including a big three by Emilee Holloway late in the quarter. The Crusaders led 20-16 at halftime.
In the second half, it was much the same in the third quarter as Buhler maintained its four point lead at 32-28.
The Cougars started to find success in the fourth quarter, scoring the first four points to tie the game at 32, and moved in front to hold on and get a 44-42 win.
The Cougars were led by Janai Mitchell's 13 points and seven rebounds.
The 2-0 Cougars host 4-0 Newton on Tuesday.
The Salina South boys drop to 0-2 with a 49-44 loss at Buhler.
The Cougars and Crusaders traded buckets for much of the first quarter, and Buhler led 12-11 after one.
In the second quarter, the Cougars scored the first four points to go up 15-12, but Buhler scored eight straight to regain the lead and were up 24-21 at halftime.
In the third quarter, South used an 8-0 run to build a 29-24 lead, but Buhler ends the quarter on a 10-2 run to regain a 34-31 lead.
South would take the lead again early in the fourth quarter, scoring the first six points, but Buhler scored five straight to go back ahead and hold on.
Ethan Mitchell scored 18 points to lead the Cougars.
The 0-2 Cougars host 2-2 Newton on Tuesday.

I ALWAYS SEE THE STORIES ABOUT HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL, FOOTBALL, TENNIS, ETC. BUT I NEVER CAN FIND OUT HOW THE WRESTLING TEAMS DO, WHY IS THAT?
