Scam Cost Salina Man $3,000

An elderly Salina man is the victim of another phone scam.
Police report the man, in his 80's, received a telephone call Monday from someone claiming to be his grandson in the Philippines.
The caller said he had been in a traffic accident and needed $3,000 to fix his vehicle. The man wired the money.
A short time later the victim received a second call from the same person saying his needed another $3,800 to pay medical bills.
Again the man sent the money. But this time he was contacted by Western Union in time to stop the second transaction.
Total loss, $3,000.
