Salina Area United Way Director to Move On

Andy Martin, Executive Director of the Salina Area United Way has accepted a new position as the President and CEO of the Brazos Valley United Way in College Station, Texas, home of the Texas A&M Aggies.

Martin said in an email to KSAL, that the move comes after much thought, "It is after careful consideration and with mixed emotions I have accepted a new work opportunity as the President and CEO of the Brazos Valley United Way in College Station, Texas," he said.

"This has not been an easy decision for me; however, I believe this opportunity is a good next step for my career and for my family."

Martin has been with the local United Way for four and half years.

His last day will be January 15, 2013. According to Martin, he'll begin work in Texas in early February.

The 2013 Executive Committee is developing a plan for recruiting the next Executive Director of the Salina Area United Way.

We will miss Andy's infectious enthusiasm for the community! He is great at motivating others to work together toward a "big picture" vision. He reminds me of the Energizer Bunny - so energetic & positive all the time!
