I am glad that the Troopers were out working over the christmas holiday. After driving down some of the state highways and interstates in our county, it was easy to see that many folks drive with HUA! And yes Aurora, they do drive SUV's, but if you were "smart" enough to do a little research about how the patrol provides Troopers with vehicles, you would know two things. 1. The program that they have is self sustaining. 2. The vehicles they get come at a discounted price. Thanks Troops.

Even with the state getting a pretty good price on their purchases of automobiles the parol does not need gas guzzler suv's. They use twice as much gas than the sedans they drive and they require more maintance. On another note the new troopers are more arrogant and rude compared to those older troopers. Evidently none of those in supervisory positions are aware of what is taking place out in the field.

why isn't Brownback doing something about it? He is cutting others budgets and should be looking at this also there is no reason to have these troopers in suv's.

And the ones with the SUV's have them because they have more specialized items they carry around which help save Iamgonnagetyou's butt when "it" needs it. When people like you need help, they will come, they will help you so you can go back to the keyboard and talk crap about them some more. If you only knew, your biggest nemesis, the Sheriff, the Chief, road guys, could care less what you and your fellow hate filled friends spew out, you are only entertaining yourselves. These guys are working the roads, keeping them safe, and ready to help you even if you hate them. That is gold. How you justify in your life the hate you have for those serving you is not even fathomable. I rarely see an SUV anyway, so I have no idea why this is what you guys are focusing on. The one I can think of has a drug dog and has taken hundreds of pounds of drugs off the interstates that go through your town.

As a person who drives 45 miles per day on I-70 going to and from work I agree with tlittle. The SUVs are not the main vehicles used. They are used during bad weather situations and the above mentioned drug busts to haul the necessary equipment needed during these situations. Aurora and Iam, who will you call during an emergency on the highway.......? Thought so. Thanks KHP

Well I drive everyday on the interstate have for 10 years an never needed the highway patrols help. Also never needed the sheriff or police help for that matter. There is nothing these ticket writers need that they could not have in an ecomonical car. The truth of the matter is they are playing games trying to entrap people in order to give summons. They figure with all the suv's on the road they blend in better. We need less ticket writers and more law enforcement.
