Salina Manufacturer Adding Three Dozen Jobs
Rachel Hinde - Wed 09:29 AM 01/09/2013
ElDorado National Kansas Inc. has purchased the bus operations of a California company and will move the assets to its Salina facility. The move will create thirty six new manufacturing jobs in Salina.
ElDorado National Kansas Inc. recently purchased Krystal Enterprises of Brea California, a manufacturer of luxury buses with estimated annual sales in excess of $30,000,000.
“We are pleased to welcome more premium wage manufacturing jobs to the Salina Airport Industrial Center,” said Tim Rogers, A.A.E., Executive Director of the Salina Airport Authority.
The new luxury buses will complement the Aerolite, Aerotech, Aero Elite and Advantage products of buses already made at Eldorado National’s Salina facility, located at 1655 Wall Street in the Salina Airport Industrial Center.
“We thank the Salina Area Chamber of Commerce and the Salina Airport” said Jeff Montgomery, President and General Manager. “The Airport is a great operating location. The Chamber helped us to understand how the Kansas Department of Commerce programs can support a decision to add jobs in Salina.”
“I’m excited that ElDorado National Kansas Inc. is expanding and creating good new jobs in the state,” said Kansas Commerce Secretary Pat George. “Eldorado has had a manufacturing presence in Kansas for more than three decades. It’s terrific to see a company with a long history here continue to grow, employ more Kansans and contribute to our economic growth.”
Dennis Lauver, President & CEO of the Salina Chamber of Commerce said “the high quality workforce in Salina has made it easy for the corporate leadership to add jobs here. They know they get quality workmanship from the talent in Salina.”
Thor Industries is the corporate parent ElDorado National Kansas Inc. and is the world’s largest manufacturer of recreation vehicles and a major builder of commercial buses.

New jobs...Great for Salina! "Premium Wage" that hovers around poverty-level income for a single parent, even with the mysterious "production bonus"...not so great. The bright side is that your kids will qualify for free lunches and the rest of the freebies, but don't expect to be able take a sick kid (or yourself) to the doctor without being hit with a disproportionate penalty, as in, bye-bye bonus. Glad to hear the company is doing so well these days, but the rank and file aren't feeling it...

great for new jobs - but the so called 'production bonus' is a joke.... $170 wont pay much in bills - the guys work hard and the company dont appreciate them - i know i know - be happy you have a job.... but dont take advantage of people trying to make it in this crappy society

Hundreds get laid off jobs around here and its a big deal that 36 new jobs open up? Come on some people can make more off unemployment than they can working for these companies.

Wow 36 jobs and the city thinks it's the second coming, I'm surprised that the city allowed Eldorado to steal 36 potential employees from all of the new mediocre franchise chain restaurants coming to town. Why doesn't the city do something to attract some real businesses to town?

If you are not happy with the bonus at Eldo. Go to McD's and flip burgers and see what you make. Then maybe you will see how good the pay is at Eldo. I have been a line worker on the buss line for over 15 years and have made a good living.

Guess you negative nellies should get all your information first. Read the article in the paper. Sounds like the wages are higher than your posts would have a person believe...

betyourbootie maybe they need to open a company store and pay you in tokens to use at their store. You would probably like that also.
