Man Arrested for Aggravated Battery

KSAL News Staff - Tue 11:33 AM 01/15/2013

Police arrest a Salina man for allegedly hitting a pedestrian with his SUV.

Police arrested 24-year old Ivan Alvarez, 1623 Beverly Drive, after a neighbor told SPD that Alvarez had swerved his Ford Explorer and knocked him to the ground when the mirror of the vehicle struck him.

Police say that Alvarez and 42-year old Martin Baquera have had an ongoing dispute - that escalated on Monday evening just after 7pm in the 1600 block of Beverly.

Baquera had a scrape on his left forearm and a broken bone in his left foot.

Alvarez is charged with aggravated battery.

Must of been one hell of a mirror. Perhaps someone was running their mouth and got way to close to said person dirivng vehicle. Dunno. I was not there but seems far fetched that the other party did not contribute to getting struck.

Ivan is Legal, but I'm not sure about the other dude, I think he is ... But this might make someone think twice before letting a woman whose still married move in with him, when they only live round the corner from where her and her husband stayed.
