Naturally the cops evidently are not in shape to catch anyone who runs. Story after story when people run the cops can't catch them.

I'm not going to defend the Officers who don't stay in shape, when they should know their physical ability, is by far the best tool they can have. However, there is a lot that goes into a foot chase, other than running. Securing your own vehicle, talking on the radio letting dispatchers know direction of travel and what's going on....then running with an extra 25 lbs of gear on, shaking and rattling. Luckily most criminals have good break a way speed, but no endurance, so as long as the Officer can keep up, the criminal will gas out quickly.

The guy they were chasing was 35 years old not 16. They have their mikes right on their chest to talk with dispatch. The problem is the only exercise they get is in their fingers from writing tickets.
