5-Year-Old Salina Homicide Still Baffles Police
Associated Press / KSAL Staff - Thu 01:41 PM 01/24/2013
A composite photo of a "person of interest" in the case was released several days after the murder. The person in the photo still has not been identified.
Salina police are continuing to look for a suspect in the 2008 killing of a 56-year-old woman in her home.
Police Lt. Scott Siemsen says a $11,000 reward remains in effect for information in the death of Beverly Logan on Jan. 21, 2008.
Siemsen says an investigator stays in contact with Logan's family.
Police found Logan's body at her home after a co-worker reported she hadn't shown up for work at a nursing home.
Logan was brutally attacked, although police have not said how she was killed. They said the assailant might have sought medical attention for cuts to the hand or body.
A composite photo of a "person of interest" in the case was released several days after the murder. The person in the photo still has not been identified.
Police also asked for the public's help in locating a couple of dolls that may have been stolen. At the time they said that there may have been two Ashton-Drake Galleries life like porcelain dolls taken. The dolls are approximately 10" tall and have "real touch" vinyl skin.
If you have any information concerning this crime, call Crimestoppers at 825-TIPS, text SATIPS to CRIMES (274637), or visit Salina Police Department and follow Crimestoppers link to submit a web tip.

The one guy with all the Id's always is telling me I am negative about the police. Here is a prime example why. Been 5 years and they have not solved the case. Also they still refuse to say how she was killed. Its evident if he had cuts a knife was used so why are they still mum on this. This is typical in other cases as well when the police refuse to give the public information but then they want our help.

There are murders that go unsolved in Cities across the nation every year. Salina and Saline county have a pretty good record at this point. It is unfortunate that this case is still unsolved. You know it is possible that she was murdered by someone traveling through town who then left the same day and has never been back.

hammer1 you sound like that other guy that got tossed off here. Anything is possible but 5 years later you would think the police would not remain tight lipped. I bet her family is not satisfied I know I would not be if it was a relative of mine. The only hope they have is if this guy kills another and confess's to her murder at this point.

I'm pretty sure back when this lady was killed they said she was stabbed, but I thought it was for her purse not some dolls. This picture was on a billboard by sunset plaza. If not one person has recognized him through out salina he was probably just passing through and needed travel money. Or this is some picture the police threw together to make it look like they have SOMETHING and that their not standing around with there heads up their ........

Iamgonnagetyou, for the record - I have only one id so you might be referring to others. The challenge isn't that you are always negative about the police. The issue is that you are always negative about virtually everything.

Maybe that is because all you want to see is the positive of everything. When it comes to our community there are far more negatives and it never used to be that way. Evidently you never lived here when commissioners did not waste our money with crap art, law enforcement did not focus on writing tickets, main roads were not closed for 6 months or a bridge leading into our main park is closed because there is no money to fix it because the money was spent on art. The list goes on and on.

Iamgonnagetyou's answer shows why I am happy and he appears to not be. Of course, Salina has problems as does every city. I choose to be glass half full. It's a better way to live.

So three women murdered in Salina county that are unsolved, Jane Doe, by the river in the 80's, that lady in the trailer park in the 90's, then this case in this decade. Are there anymore? Not from Salina so I am not sure....and how many men? This is not a good record! We do not have a big metropolis with crime bleeding into our county......My guess is that these victims come from lower income brackets therefore the justice system will not work hard for them. The victims families should get assertive and hire their own PI and call law enforcement EVERY day and demand progress. Every law enforcement office should be working on these cases until they are solved. Justice for murder victims take precedence over writing seatbelt tickets and unattended vehicle tickets. But it seems this county/city/state cares more about generating money thru ticket writing then finding predators.....As a community we should DEMAND better from our law enforcement...and for our tax dollars and ticket writing revenue!!!!!

There are a few other unsolved murders. There is one that is all but forgotten. Only a handful of people still talk about her. And no, she was not in the lower income bracket. She was an old lady, Nellie Hubbard, who was brutally beat in her living room. She lived as a hoarder. She also hoarded all of her cash and bonds. When the police were done clearing the house, it was roughly $90K in cash and over $100K in bonds. There's not the lower tax bracket in 1981!
