Hays Police Investigate Two Sexual Assaults

Hays police are investigating two sexual assaults.
The first occurred Saturday at 4:47 a.m. An 18-year-old woman told police it happened in the 2900 block of Canal. She told police that she was followed for several blocks by two white men before they began to chase her. One of the suspects caught up and sexually assaulted her. Another man stopped the attack and ran from the area.
The suspect, who assaulted the woman, is described a white man, medium complexion, with blonde hair and light colored eyes. He is 5 feet 9 inches tall, 180 pounds and approximately 20 to 25 years old.
On Sunday morning, an 18-year-old woman says she was assaulted at an apartment near Fort Hays State University. The victim met the suspect at a bar before going with him to an apartment. She told police she was sexually assaulted by the suspect.
He is being described as a Hispanic man, 5 feet 8 inches tall, 150 pounds with short black hair. He is approximately 18 to 20 years old.
Police are asking that anyone with information about either assault to contact them at 785-625-1030 or 785-625-1011.
