A Salina group is planning a town-hall meeting type event to discuss area public health services.
According to the Salina Area Workers Coalition group, public health professionals and everyone else concerned with preventing disease and restoring peoples' health are welcome to discuss Salina area public health services in a community conversation.
The group says that in order to understand and appropriately value the work of public health professionals, this event will give the public the opportunity to say what public health issues are of concern, benefits, and to hear what services public health professionals provide. The add that public funding works for these services is another important concern.
The event is planned for Tuesday, February 5th, at noon in the Prescott Room of the Salina Public Library. Coffee and snacks will be provided. The public is invited and encouraged to attend.
Salina Area Workers Coalition is a locally-initiated group whose mission is to explore how all workers contribute to our community, and to promote the value of workers in our society.

I think they started last year and made a video that was posted online through the Journal as well as helped co-sponsor the David and Jackie Siegel movie/discussion last fall on the "Queen of Versailles " which won a Sundance film festival award for best directed documentary.
