Observant Officer Thwarts Burglary
Dave Foor - Thu 11:30 AM 02/07/2013
Police Lt. Scott Siemsen said investigators are looking into the possibility this break-in may be linked to several other break-ins and burglaries, mainly in east and central Salina since last September.
A Salina police officer on routine patrol Wednesday night noticed a suspicious vehicle parked behind the Huseman Veterinary Clinic, 119 Indiana.
While checking the building the officer found a door had been forced open and he could tell there were people inside. The officer called for back-up, they entered the building and two men were arrested.
31-year-old Michael Cox of 607 West Crawford and 33-year-old Stephen Rowson of 825 Scott are charged with burglary, attempted theft and damage to property. Total damage to the building is $1,500.

Its old victory2012 oh I mean fritz the german. Yes its good police work the second crooks caught from patrolling cops. No seatback ticket road blocks which lets the officers do their work. An people said to me on here patrolling police cannot stop crime. Shows you the mentality of some.

@Aurora Yep, the same theory works in the military, the foot solider is the one that wins the battle. Patrolling and good ole eye observation DOES work! Hope this clears up a bunch of recent crimes and the judge slaps some hard time on these guys if they are convicted. Way to go SPD officer for your keen eye!

If only we can get the county attorney to stop coddling these guys we would have it made. Her record shows she goes after white collar crime and just lets these crooks get off. She has held her position much to long but then again she could not make it being a regular lawyer.

Now getagrip is an authority on this. He or she bailed out on the Solomon sex and school board scandle when he or she was confronted by those that live in the community and now he or she is here spouting off.

Once again Ksal will bury this local story in favor of stories that do not affect Salina. Already 12 out of 15 stories are not local and its 8 am on Friday.

You know they are right about their comments posted. The stories of interest and that are commented on seem to last for 2 days maybe 3 if they are lucky but other stories of no interest linger. I wonder who at KSAL got paid to promote that wannabe rapper over last weekend. Like we are going to miss out on Super Bowl half time to look at an unknown's video? Yea right.
