Pamela Emig of Solomon admitted that she embezzled $817,167 while working at Enterprise Credit in Enterprise from 2005 to 2011.

Pamela Emig of Solomon admitted that she embezzled $817,167 while working at Enterprise Credit in Enterprise from 2005 to 2011.

A Solomon woman who said she embezzled from the credit union where she worked to save the family farm has been sentenced to three years in prison.

The U.S. attorney's office says 48-year-old Pamela Emig, of Solomon, must also pay $817,000 in restitution under the sentence she received Monday.

Emig pleaded guilty in November to one count of embezzling from Enterprise Credit Union, in Enterprise, between 2005 and 2011. She was a manager and kited checks between accounts under her control to cover up the thefts.

Defense attorney Christopher Joseph says in a filing that Emig was a conscientious employee for nearly 30 years until desperation influenced her "aberrant actions."

The thefts began when she and her husband filed for bankruptcy and had no money to feed their cattle.

I cannot believe this she steals nearly a million and gets only 3 years. The biggest joke is the restitution. She is 48 years old and will be 51 or so when she gets out of jail if she lives to be a hundred she will never be able to pay that back.

You said it t--bone. So as I understand the incident, she stole the money to feed the cattle because she and her husband were in bankruptcy proceedings and did not have the money for feed. In bankruptcy proceedings for six (6) years? 2005-2011 She will not spend 36 months in Club Fed as some think and will be out and about before that because of sentence structure, there is specific time formula for each day served. Pay back the money, her great great grand children will still be paying on that debt. However makes it sound good to the public. What about all the expensive toys bought with that money? Have they been seized and sold to help repay the money? I don't think so. If ya want to commit a crime, make sure it is on the federal level.

This wasn't enough time for the crime! How much time did her partner in crime end up with - she only took $85,000.00 - what was her sentence---how soon will they both get out - her excuses were lame----she belittled and looked down on people who filed bankruptcy----she did that and embezzled ---

Why would she make it easy to loan money to people with questionable credit? She had plans for that money.

If you are going bankrupt and can't feed your cattle, wouldn't it be smart to sell them?

@ simple... How about some real time for robbing that bank. And yes she robbed it with a pen. How about her husband going with her? You don't just poop out over 800,000 and your spouse not have a clue. How about people are made accountable for their actions? Boohoo times are tough...well hello they are tough for almost everyone. Should we all steal and do what ever we want to get by?

@simple..starting with time that fits the crime, low end was 51 months. Granted that was a call of the judge. Funny thing is, she is still ahead of the game in tall grass at three years instead of 51 months. The expensive toys? Where are they now, did she have to turn everything over to the court? Your screen name says it all!

@ StrykersPerson, I read the other article and it said that she is not allowed to sell the cattle and farm. I don't know why but I think if she was allowed to sell, she might not have stolen any money...

So just getting this straight since I am simple. Are you thinking that life in prision and selling everything is the answer? How do you suggest it is done? I was also wondering why is what happens to her or anyone else any worries to you? Just look around we are all getting screwed one way or another. God will judge each and everyone of us. No one is perfect and we all fall short of the Glory of God. I just pray that God touches you, the family and all others. In the end he is who we have to answer to not this blog. Might consider being a little simple yourself.

@simple bet you'd be singing a different tune if she stole your money , the fact is she was a thief the only difference is she robbed the bank using computers and a pen not a gun she hopefully will have to pay back every cent

@simple.. No one is perfect?? LMAO really? She is a thief!!!!! It is our worry because we like her are a part of society and as part of society we can't and shouldn't tolerate thieves and criminals doing what they do. Your solution is to just let God judge us all?? Really??

She had no intention of selling anything and she probably should have lost her job when she filed for bankrupcy. But the simple fact remains in this case as in other cases of this type. That being the companies or banks that this happens to are lax in having outside auditors examine their books. 100% of the time that results in major loses. Any person who wants to do this an sees that there is no checks and balances goes for it but if there were safe guards they are app not to steal especially on such a large scale.
