Police are investigating a burglary and theft that took place at 100 N. 5th between 10:45am and 1:30pm on Tuesday.

27-year old Cory Lowe told police that when he came back to his apartment he noticed that the window had been shattered. This allowed the thief to unlock the door and then ransack the victim's apartment.

Several items were stolen including a Hi-Point semi automatic handgun, a 32-inch Emerson TV, PlayStation 3 console and games, a pair of duffel bags, and a DVD movie.

Total loss and damage is estimated at $1,088.

Most of those that live there have the clothes on their back and a duffle bag and are very mobile.
