Alcohol may have played a factor in a crash involving a Saline County dump truck and a pickup truck.

According to the Saline County Sheriff's Office, 57-year-old Wilbert Owen of Tescott was following a dump truck west on Shipton Road Tuesday afternoon. Owen rear-ended the dump truck when it slowed down to stop at a stop sign.

Both Owen and the driver of the dump truck, 24-year-old Brandon Jones of Salina, were transported by EMS to Salina Regional Health Center.

Sheriff Glen Kochanowski says that alcohol may have played a factor in the crash.

The crash happened at about 3:45 Tuesday afternoon near the intersection of Shipton and Halstead Road west of Salina.
