Marsha Meili, has made a commitment of $30,000 to the College of Engineering at Kansas State University to establish the Marsha Meili Engineering Scholarship.

The recipient of this scholarship must be an undergraduate student, in her junior or senior year, who is enrolled in the College of Engineering at K-State. The recipient must also be a participant in the Women in Engineering and Science Program and have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA.

Meili is a native of Beverly, Kan. She is a 1981 graduate of K-State with a bachelor's degree in civil engineering and a 1991 graduate of Wichita State University with a master's of business administration. She is an engineering manager with Spirit Aerosystems Inc., Wichita.

Meili is a member of the Society of Women Engineers and received their 2004 Distinguished Service Award. She is also a member of Women in Engineering ProActive Network, a national not-for-profit organization that works to transform culture in engineering education to attract, retain and graduate women. She is a member of Presidents Club, a KSU Foundation philanthropic leadership organization for friends and alumni of K-State. Meili is a life member of the K-State Alumni Association, and is a member of the College of Engineering's Seaton Society at the executive level.

"While attending K-State, I received several scholarships because of the generosity of those who came before me. I have enjoyed mentoring and encouraging young people to become engineers throughout my career. Through this scholarship, I want to add a new level of commitment by supporting college students at my alma mater."
