A cow in the roadway is being blamed for a fatal traffic accident in Cloud County over the weekend.
Sheriff Brian Marks says a Concordia woman, 39-year-old Lori Lamer, was killed in the crash. Lamer was riding in an SUV on US-24 highway just east of Miltonvale shortly after 11 p.m. Saturday, when the driver swerved to miss the cow in the road.
The driver suffered a broken arm in the crash.
