(Kansas City, MO) -- Zack Greinke fired seven strong innings to lead the Royals to a 4-1 win over the Twins at Kauffman Stadium. Greinke struck out eight while giving up just one run on seven hits to up his mark to 16-and-8. He also lowered his Major League-leading ERA to 2.06. Joakim Soria tossed the final two frames to pick up his 29th save. Yuniesky Betancourt clubbed a three-run homer for the Royals, who salvaged the finale of the weekend series. Michael Cuddyer plated a on a ground out for Minnesota, which had won its previous five. Francisco Liriano yielded three runs in just one-and-two-thirds to dip to 5-and-13. Despite the loss, Minnesota is still two games behind the AL Central-leading Tigers, who suffered an 8-4 loss to the White Sox on Sunday. The Twins and Tigers begin a four-game series Monday night in Detroit. KC begins a three-game series tonight in New York.
