Little Texas to Perform Free Concert at Fort Riley

The band, which is currently on its 20th anniversary tour, will perform the concert as a way to welcome home the 2nd Heavy Brigade Combat Team and the 300th Military Police Company. Both units recently redeployed to Fort Riley from the war effort

The rock-country sensation, Little Texas, will be the headline entertainment at Fort Riley's third annual Oktoberfest.

The concert will begin at 8:00 Thursday night at Rally Point Field. It is free and open to the public.

The band, which is currently on its 20th anniversary tour, will perform the concert as a way to welcome home the 2nd Heavy Brigade Combat Team and the 300th Military Police Company. Both units recently redeployed to Fort Riley from the war effort.

Oktoberfest, open nightly from 4 p.m. to midnight, will continue through Oct. 10.

Other activities scheduled at the festival include German food, craft booths, carnival rides and performances by German bands Oct. 9 and Oct. 10.

Additionally, an Operation Rising Star singing contest will be at 6 p.m. Oct. 9, which is open to all active-duty, Reserve, National Guard and Family members 18 years of age and older.
