Cross Country
Three teams from the Regional qualify for state along with the top ten individual runners.
Class 5A
Both Salina South and Salina Central have been assigned to Emporia Regional, which will take place at Jones Park. The girls begin at 3:00 p.m. and boys at 3:45 p.m. Other teams competing at Emporia Include Bonner Springs, KC-Harmon, KC-Turner, KC-Wyandotte, ST. Thomas Aquinas, Pittsburg, Mill Valley, and Bishop Miege.
Class 4A
Abilene and Chapman are both in the Hiawatha Regional being run at the Hiawatha Country Club. Start times are 3:00 p.m. for the girls and 3:30 p.m. for the boys. Other teams competing include Atchison, Santa Fe Trail, Clay Center, Concordia, Pleasant Ridge, Hiawatha, Holton, Royal Valley, Jefferson West, Perry-Lecompton, Silver Lake, Hayden, Wamego.
Class 3A
Southeast of Saline will host a regional at the high school in Gypsum. Other teams in the meet include Belle Plaine, Douglass, Ellsworth, Garden Plain, Halstead, Hillsboro, Bluestem, Lyons, Marion, Minneapolis, Sedgwick, Remington, Wichita Collegiate, and Wichita Independent. The girls will run at 2:30 p.m. and boys at 3:00 p.m.
Class 2A
In the area teams will compete in Hill City at the Prairie Trails Golf Course. Local teams include Bennington, Ell-Saline, and Sacred Heart. They will begin the girls race at 2:00 p.m. and the boys at 2:30 p.m. Other teams competing include Ellis, Hill City, Rock Hills, Oakley, Decatur Community, Osborne, Plainville, Stockton, and Trego Community.
Class 1A
Lincoln and Tescott will both travel to the Leonardville Golf Course to compete in the Riley County Regional. There are a total of 14 teams competing in that regional.
