Attorney General Steve Six says capital murder charges have been filed against a man accused of killing a woman and her infant son.

In a news release, Six said 22-year-old Luis Antonio Aguirre is charged with killing Tanya Maldonado and her 15-month-old son Juan Maldonado. Their bodies were found by a hunter in a shallow grave near Ogden, Kansas two weeks ago.

Aguirre was arrested in Texas October 30th. He appeared in a Riley County Courtroom Monday afternoon.

The Death Penalty Defense Unit was appointed to the case. Bond was previously set at $2.5 million. The next hearing is scheduled next month.
